The right size cover

To ensure that the cover fits properly, it is important to measure the correct dimensions. Read here how to select the right cover. Additionally, make use of our decision aid.

Setup

First, consider the setup in which you want to cover the set. For example, you can place a corner lounge set in a corner configuration. For this, you need to use an L-shaped lounge set cover. You then place the table on the sofa.

Alternatively, you can choose to place the elements of the corner lounge set next to each other. For this setup, you need a rectangular lounge set cover.

Measuring

In the correct setup, measure the outer, longest dimensions. For example, with a garden set, you measure as follows:

  1. Length: across the table including the back of the chairs;
  2. Width: across the table including the side of the chairs;
  3. Height: generally, this is the height of the chair's backrest.

When measuring a garden furniture or barbecue, allow some room for covering and removing the cover.

Garden furniture comes in many different shapes and sizes, so you may not always find the exact fit. In that case, opt for the nearest larger size. Generally, a garden furniture cover can be slightly larger than the furniture on each side. More than 15cm on one side is usually too much. This can cause a cover to flap in the wind and shorten the life of the cover. If you do buy a larger cover, make sure you secure the cover to prevent it from flapping in the wind.
